Peace At Last
Sweetly I think of you
with love everyday,
Tenderly I dream of you
and what I'd like to say.
I know that you are with me
even though your life has passed,
You walk with me, comfort me
and let me know at last.
Your life was a difficult journey
along a bumpy trail,
You tried your best to find the way
to let your goodness prevail.
It was with grief and sadness
that you took your life that day,
Now God has you in his keeping
and your pain has washed away.
You found the peace you searched for
so desperately in life,
At last your soul is comforted
from the demons that caused you strife.
Although I miss you desperately
and wish you didn't leave,
I had no power to stop you
and now I must simply grieve.
I hear your voice in the wind
and feel your touch in the sun,
You speak to me in gentle ways
and I know your day has come.

Carrying You with Me . . . forever.
This was created for a friend of mine. This is a one of a kind design as are all of the Faini pieces are. This is a special way to keep your loved one with you all of the time, that I want everyone to know about. ~Brenda
A phrase you may have heard at one time or another. While it may mean different things to different people, it still reflects back to keeping fond memories of a loved one in your mind and heart. It is good and healthy to keep that little spot in your heart for people dear to you that you have lost. Faini Designs Jewelry Studio have dealt with many families that have been touched by losing a family member, close relative or friend. They help us to retain those good memories in a unique way.
The butterfly ring all started with a phone call. . .
The story begins like this.
My friends had lost a loved one to suicide....
They wanted to know if Faini could help them preserve the memories of their daughter in a special way?
This side of the ring beautifully displaying a hand engraved cross into it that had been enameled with blue-turquoise enamel. You are looking at the top view of the ‘butterfly ring’ depicting a gorgeous display of colored enamel that filled in the hand engraved butterfly.
NOTE: The opposite side of the cross was hand engraved at the couple’s request to add even more meaning to this project. The initials of their lost loved one were prominently displayed.
It was quickly decided that one butterfly would be incorporated into the ring. This was based on the love their lost child had with butterflies. One butterfly was created to beautifully display several brilliant colors that were done in enamel with some favorite colors of the child.
The religious theme on one side of the ring was nicely done with a hand engraved cross that was enameled in the color chosen by the couple. The other side of the ring was personalized by hand engraving the initials of their child. The engraving was designed with the intention to be a very pretty design that does not have the letters jump right out at you. The letters were to complement one another while satisfying the balance of that part of the ring.
A couple of other details were worked into the ring. A non-symmetrical look was desired along with a half square shank. A cylinder to encase some of the ashes from the cremation and its placement was the last theme to be determined.
A cylinder of gold was made with gold caps to go on each end. With the use of laser technology, they kept the heat from getting close to the cremated ashes, one end was capped. The ashes were then inserted into the cylinder and the second cap was attached with the laser that welds metal with light versus heat.
These people come highly recommended and can handle orders from anywhere in the world.
They also take your loved one's jewlery and make into a piece that you can wear.... thus, keeping something precious to your loved one, near to you at all times.
If you have military buttons or bars that you would like transformed into a piece for you to wear, they can also do that, while leaving the design to be the front or center of the piece.

Chasing Death

Lace Memory Heart
Materials
1 lace doily size of your choice
5 small silk rose buds color of your choice
Small amount of silk baby's breath
3 or more pearl loops
10" of satin ribbon for hanger white or color to match roses
A variety of keepsakes
A sheet of clear plastic - template or shrink plastic
Zipper type bag
Fabric stiffener
White craft glue
Scissors
Option: Needle and thread to match doily or fabric covered album if using on an album cover.
Instructions:
In the sample I used a 10" Battenburg Lace Heart Doily from Wimpole Street, 5 silk red rose buds and a number of pieces or jewelry kept from my grandmother, mother, myself, my son and my grandchildren. I also included some buttons and mementos from important times in my life. This was made into a wall hanging but without the stiffener and plastic backing could easily be stitched to a memory album or matted and framed.
Cut the plastic sheet in a heart shape slightly smaller than your doily. Mine is 9 1/2"
Follow the instructions on the fabric stiffener bottle. I placed a small to medium amount of the stiffener in a zip bag and added the doily. After closing the bag, knead to distribute the stiffener and help the doily to absorb the stiffener. When removing the doily from the plastic bag, use the bag opening to remove excess stiffener. Spread the doily on the plastic heart shape an smooth out any wrinkles. Allow to dry completely.
Arrange the roses, baby's breath and pearl loops in a pleasing design down the left side of the doily gluing them in place with the white craft glue. Arrange the mementos around on the remaining heart. When your design pleases you glue each item in place. Glue the ribbon to the dip in the heart to form a hanger.
Option: If placing your heart on an album cover instead of gluing each item in place, stitch them onto the heart. Begin with a covered album and stitch the entire outer edge of the heart to the cover. You may now glue the roses in place and then stitch each item through the heart doily and into the fabric cover of your album. This not only attaches your mementos but also helps to anchor the doily.
