I have created a memorial web site for my son; which is not only in memory of Wayne, but it offers advice, articles, suggestions, etc., for other survivors of suicide. At this point, two of my poems are being published in books about grief and suicide. I am very involved with the local SOS support group and a volunteer of the annual Survivor Conference planning committee. I will also be helping our local crisis intervention organization, Hopeline, to organize and implement the yellow ribbon program in our community and schools. I am a very active member of the POS of SD support group plus the Survivor Division Director of SMHAI. Since my son's death, my main goals in life are to help other survivors as they travel their difficult journey of grief and healing; to assist in suicide prevention and awareness; and to live my life in a way that would make my son proud.
Collectively, the SMHAI Awards Program judges have approximately 28 years experience in website design, development and maintenance.
